Wednesday, March 12, 2014 Golden Gate Highlands Nat Park to
Midmar Nature Reserve
The sun was shining brightly when we stopped this morning at
Basotho Cultural Village. Here in the Eastern Free State, we saw examples of
the cultural and architectural influence from the early 16th century
thru the British and Huguenot influences. It was also interesting to see how their homes
were influenced by the shapes of the sandstone cliffs beyond them.
Later that day after shopping at some very interesting craft
areas, we came upon the capture site of Nelson Mandela. They are making a
fantastic museum and monument there.
